Uncle Earl's Mining Camp is a hands-on educational field trip to help students enjoying learning about rocks and minerals.
The educational experience centers around an historic representation of sluice prospecting. Students receive an enriched
bag of mining "rough" which they load into a sluice box to discover various minerals and gemstones. Students will then identify the minerals and gemstones, matching with over 200 rock specimens on display. When the exercise is completed, students will keep their gemstones, and recieve a Stone ID card.
